The Carlyle Group and GIC Buy Veritas From Symantec

The Carlyle Group, through Carlyle Partners VI fund, and Singapore’s GIC Private Limited, along with other co-investors are acquiring Veritas, an information management systems provider, from Mountain View-based Symantec Corporation for US$ 8 billion in cash. Upon the deal closing, Symantec expects to receive approximately US$ 6.3 billion in net cash proceeds, subject to certain customary post-closing adjustments.
