Apollo Global Management Gets Big Boost for Real Asset Team

In the competitive world of real asset fund raising and investing, Apollo Global Management was able to recruit Joseph Kenneth Azelby to be its new head of real assets. Azelby will oversee some US$ 12 billion in real assets, helping grow Apollo’s investments in real estate debt, infrastructure, equity real estate and other areas of real assets. Azelby was captain of the football team at Harvard University. Azelby played as a linebacker in the 1984 season for the Buffalo Bills.

Institutional real estate remains one of Apollo’s smallest business units at around US$ 12 billion in assets under management compared to the credit business at US$ 141 billion in assets under management.
