AEW and CIC Get Financing on Celsius Portfolio Deal

The China Investment Corporation (CIC) and AEW received 670 million in financing for their acquisition of the Celsius Portfolio – a portfolio of interests in the Waasland and Wijnegem shopping centres and eight other properties in France. The financing was arranged and underwritten by ING and Natixis. The deal to buy the portfolio was finalized on July 13, 2015. The seller was CBRE Retail Property Fund France Belgium CV.

Seattle City Employees’ Retirement System Allocates $24 Million to BlueBay Direct Lending Fund

The US$ 2.3 billion Seattle City Employees’ Retirement System committed US$ 24 million to BlueBay Direct Lending Fund II, a fund managed by BlueBay Asset Management.

Azzam Shawwa to Lead Palestine Monetary Authority

Azzam Shawwa has been appointed to become chief of the Palestine Monetary Authority. This is after Jihad Al Wazir’s eight years at the top draws to a close. Shawwa served as Palestine’s Minster of Energy in 2003 and is currently general manager of Palestine Commercial Bank.
