Summary

In 1956, Tunisia gained independence from France. On September 19, 1958, the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) was formed. In December of that year, the Tunisian Dinar was officially disconnected from the Franc (France). It is also known as Banque Centrale de Tunisie.
