NMC Health Filed for Bankruptcy Protection in the U.S.

Scandal-plagued hospital operator NMC Health has filed for bankruptcy protection in the United States. In the U.S., NMC Health is dealing with a group of shareholder lawsuits over financial irregularities. NMC was delisted from the London Stock Exchange. In April 2020, an English court placed NMC into administration, following a petition filed by Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB). ADCB is one of the major lenders to NMC, which had accumulated a total of US$ 6.6 billion in debts.
