The price of bitcoin recently breached US$ 50,000 after months of rallying to new highs. Bitcoin hit a record high of US$ 64,870 on April 14, 2021, ahead of Coinbase Global Inc.’s listing.

Nassim Taleb doubled down on his view that bitcoin is a Ponzi scheme and a failed currency. In a CNBC interview, the “Black Swan” author said, “There’s no connection between inflation and bitcoin.”
Some cryptocurrency followers view the cryptocurrency, often referred to as digital gold, as a hedge against inflation.
