1. BITCOIN PRICE: 40,682.30 United States Dollar Jun 14, 3:59 PM UTC. Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk tweeted thus impacting Bitcoin’s price again – with BTC critics calling it the Elon Pump and Dump.
On another note, MicroStrategy said this morning it officially completed its US$ 500 million junk-bond sale. MicroStrategy plans to use the proceeds, which it estimates at US$ 488 million — after discounts, commissions, and expenses — to buy more Bitcoin. A large number of hedge funds supported the bond offering. Company CEO Michael Saylor tweeted, “MicroStrategy Completes $500 Million Offering of 6.125% Senior Secured Notes Due 2028 with #Bitcoin Use of Proceeds. @MicroStrategy’s existing approximately 92,079 bitcoins are being held by a newly formed subsidiary, MacroStrategy LLC. $MSTR”
Coinbase has subleased 30,000 square feet from Steven Cohen’s Point72 Asset Management at 55 Hudson Yards in New York.
2. French energy giant EDF says increase in “noble gases” found in China nuclear plant cooling system. There was an “increase in the concentration of noble gases” in the cooling system of China’s Taishan nuclear plant. Powered up in 2018, Taishan was the first nuclear power plant to operate a next-generation EPR reactor.
3. HSBC Holdings plc has coughed up at least US$ 900 million in global regulatory fines over currency rigging.
4. Goldman Sachs is considering moving some traders to Florida.
5. ADQ is looking into investing around US$ 500 million in India-based Flipkart.
