Norway Government Expert Panel Could Influence SWF Management’s Future

Norway’s government appointed an expert panel to determine if the sovereign wealth fund’s management should be managed under Norges Bank, the country’s central bank. Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM) is a unit of Norges Bank. NBIM oversees Norway Government Pension Fund Global. Ulf Sverdrup, Director at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs, is chairing the expert panel committee. Sverdrup was the Head of the Secretariat for the Official Norwegian Europe Review. The report is expected to be submitted by October 1, 2022.
