Superbowl Champ Tom Brady Draws Big VCs into Sports Celeb NFT Platform Autograph

Autograph is a Santa Monica, California-based NFT platform for brands and names in sports, entertainment, and culture. NFT stands for non-fungible token. Autograph raised US$ 170 million in a Series B round that was co-led by a16z (Andreessen Horowitz) and Kleiner Perkins. Other investors in the round include Lightspeed Partner Nicole Quinn and Katie Haun’s firm. In addition, the company has added new members to its board, including Haun, Ilya Fushman, partner at Kleiner Perkins, and a16z’s Arianna Simpson and Chris Dixon.

Autograph was created in July 2021 and is co-founded by Superbowl champ Tom Brady. Autograph had some NFT launches with people such as Tiger Woods, Naomi Osaka, The Weeknd, Simone Biles, Tony Hawk, and Derek Jeter.

Autograph also partnered with entertainment companies like Lionsgate and Slam Magazine.

Tom Brady stated in a recent news release, “Big news on the Autograph front. We are pumped to add some really knowledgeable people in the Web3 space to our team.”
