EQT Infrastructure Looks to Flip Stake in GlobalConnect Possibly to Mubadala

Abu Dhabi-based Mubadala Investment Company is in talks about acquiring a stake in fiber network operator GlobalConnect. The transaction could value GlobalConnect at US$ 7 billion. EQT Partners AB, via EQT Infrastructure, is looking to sell a minority stake in GlobalConnect. GlobalConnect operates data centers in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Germany.

On December 20, 2016, EQT Infrastructure agreed to buy GlobalConnect A/S from the founding Zibrandtsen family (founder Niels Zibrandtsen). The family retained a 20% stake in the company.

On another note, Mubadala made a bid to acquire Brazilian ethanol joint venture BP Bunge Bioenergia, increasing a bid offer from Raizen.
