Summary

Formed in 1960 by the Ontario Hospital Association, the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan Trust Fund (HOOPP) helps fund the retirement for Ontario’s healthcare workers. HOOPP provides a Defined Benefit (DB) plan which pays out a set pension amount every month based on a member’s length of service and best 5 consecutive years of earnings. The Plan is registered under the Pension Benefits Act (Ontario) and the Income Tax Act (Canada).
