Cbus was formed by the combination of two major funds, BUS and AUST. Cbus is also known as Construction and Building Unions Superannuation.

The fund was formed with membership from Australia’s building and construction unions. In 1985, the Australian government signed an accord in 1985, recognizing the need for superannuation to cover all workers.

Cbus has strong links to its sponsoring organisations; unions such as the CFMEU, AMWU, AWU, CEPU, ACTU and ETU and employers such as the MBA and NECA.
