CalSTRS Buys Another Data Center

California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS) acquired another data center. DataCore LP, its US$ 500 million separate account managed by GI Partners, bought the data center at 10828 NW Airworld Drive, Kansas City. The tenant is Datapipe, Inc., a cloud and managed services provider. In 2012, CalSTRS founded DataCore to go after technology-oriented real estate in America, including data centers, internet gateways, life science properties and corporate campuses for technology tenants.

Samruk-Kazyna Plans to Launch 20 New Industrial Projects

Samruk-Kazyna, one of Kazakhstan’s sovereign wealth funds, plans to launch 20 new industrial investment projects for a value of US$ 5.9 billion. The projects will stimulate jobs, with the wealth fund claiming at least 6,000 permanent jobs and 11,000 temporary jobs. Samruk-Kazyna also is working double time to attract foreign capital into the country.
