Being a big asset public investor has its downsides such as having the stress of more money to manage. In addition, it is also a major challenge to find enough feasible investments that can give a substantial positive return within a given level of risk. There are numerous advantages of being a big sovereign wealth fund or large public pension plan. By managing more assets, these institutional investors usually attract top performing managers due to their assets under management (more AUM equates to more fees), thus giving access to higher performers within an asset class.
