India dealsOverseas institutional investors have been requesting India to join Euroclear to allow them easier access to Indian debt. As U.S. borrowing costs are expected to climb, Indian bonds are predicted to be an attractive asset for institutional investors. In October, the Indian government reported the slowest inflation in roughly 3 years. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s economic policies have swung the heads of pension, sovereign wealth fund and private equity investors. Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), the manager of Norway’s sovereign wealth fund, has indicated increasing their allocation to markets like India.

On October 29th, via a Bloomberg interview, after a press conference, NBIM CEO Yngve Slyngstad said, “India is one of those markets where you should expect that we will continue to increase our investments over time, significantly.”
