National Grid Sells Off Majority Interest in UK Gas Distribution Business

On December 8, 2016, National Grid plc revealed they entered into an agreement to sell a 61% equity interest in its U.K. gas distribution business, also known as NGGD, to a consortium of long-term infrastructure investors. The consortium comprises Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA), Allianz Capital Partners, Hermes Investment Management, CIC Capital Corporation (part of the China Investment Corporation), Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), Dalmore Capital and Amber Infrastructure Limited and International Public Partnerships.
