October Sovereign Wealth Fund Debt Deals
On August 8, 2013, Amyris, Inc, a renewable chemicals and fuels company, entered into a deal for the sale of convertible notes in a private placement up to US$ 60 million in cash. Temasek Holdings through its sovereign wealth enterprise, Maxwell (Mauritius) Pte Ltd, is a major stockholder of Amyris. The deal includes US$ 35 million of notes in tranche #1 and up to US$ 25 million in tranche #2. Total Energies Nouvelles Activités USA also participated as well, but with separate amount.
On October 4, 2013, Amyris sold and issued a bridge note to Maxwell for US$ 35 million in cash proceeds at a rate of 5.5% each four months.
