PARALLEL CURRENCY: Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Issues Bond Notes

Zimbabwe is encountering a wide-spread U.S. dollar cash crunch. The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, the country’s central bank, announced on November 28, 2016, they issued US$ 10 million in bond notes, creating a controversial quasi-currency to placate citizen frustrations.
