Qatar Royal Family Plans to Participate in Deutsche Bank Capital Raise

Deutsche Bank AG plans to raise €8 billion (US$ 8.6 billion) from an equity capital increase, according to its website. The German mega lender plans to strengthen its balance sheet by issuing 687.5 million new shares at €11.65 per share. This would be a 35% discount compared to the close on March 17, 2017. The shares sale is running from March 21, 2017 to April 6, 2017. In addition, current investors of the bank will be able to purchase 1 share for each two they now hold. By trying to contain labor costs, settling pending litigation, spinning off units and real estate, and witnessing rising interest rates in the U.S., Deutsche Bank hopes to have a more prosperous 2017.
