Sovereign Wealth Funds Surpass 6 Trillion in Assets

Sovereign wealth funds have exceeded US$ 6 trillion in assets, officially totaling US$ 6.001 as of October 16, 2013. Sovereign funds have added US$ 1.159 trillion in assets since the beginning of 2012 till today, a 23.94% increase.

The growth in sovereign fund assets can be attributed to a number of factors including: new sovereign wealth funds, increased performance in portfolios and capital injections.

Norway’s Government Pension Fund Global (GPFG) remains the largest sovereign wealth fund in the world according to our fund rankings.
