Temasek Invests in Viela Bio

Gaithersburg, Maryland-based Viela Bio has incorporated as an independent inflammation- and autoimmunity-focused biotechnology company after spinning out six molecules from MedImmune, the global biologics research and development arm of AstraZeneca. Viela Bio raised US$ 250 million from an investor group led by Boyu Capital, 6 Dimensions Capital, and Hillhouse Capital, along with Singapore’s Temasek Holdings and Sirona Capital. AstraZeneca will remain the largest minority shareholder of Viela Bio.

Dave Sauvarin to Head up Guernsey at Northern Trust

Dave Sauvarin was named Head of Guernsey business at Northern Trust. He replaces Belinda Aspinall who took on a senior position at Northern Trust’s London office. Sauvarin will report to Teresa Parker, President of Northern Trust in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Northern Trust.
