Northern Trust Names Potter to Vice Chairman, Shundrawn A. Thomas to Lead NTAM

Northern Trust Corporation moved Stephen N. Potter, President of Northern Trust Asset Management, to become vice chairman. Taking over as President of Northern Trust Asset Management is Shundrawn A. Thomas. Shundrawn A. Thomas is currently Head of Funds and Managed Accounts Group at Northern Trust Asset Management. Both changes are effective October 1, 2017. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Thomas served as a vice president for Goldman Sachs and held positions in sales, trading and research with Morgan Stanley.

EFG Hermes Acquires 50% Stake in Frontier Investment Management

EFG Hermes Holding S.A.E, through its unit EFG Hermes UAE Limited, acquired a 50% ownership stake in Frontier Investment Management, an asset manager with US$ 1.6 billion in assets under management, for 79 million AED (US$ 21.5 million). The other 50% stake in Frontier Investment Management was retained by the firm’s founder. EFG Hermes UAE Limited was advised by law firm Shearman & Sterling.

Ping An Good Doctor, formerly known as Ping An HealthCare and Technology Company, is a Chinese online healthcare platform that is part of Ping An Insurance (Group) Company. CalPERS Allocates $1 Billion Internally to a Global ESG Strategy

In February 2018, the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) allocated US$ 1 billion to an internally-managed QSI Global ESG strategy. The internally-managed strategy was developed by New York-based QS Investors, LLC, a subsidiary of Legg Mason. CalPERS entered into a 5-year contract with QS Investors, with a possible spend of over US$ 1 million per annum.
