Temasek Participates in Another Investment Round in Virtual Reality Startup

Japan-based SoftBank Group Corporation is leading a group of investors to invest in London-based Improbable Worlds Limited, a virtual reality startup. It is a US$ 502 million investment. Returning investors include Temasek Holdings, Andreessen Horowitz and Hong Kong-based Horizon Ventures. These returning investors participated in a US$ 22 million investment round back in March 2015.

BNY Mellon Promotes Chandresh Iyer to CEO of Alternative Investment Services

Chandresh Iyer was promoted to become CEO of BNY Mellon’s alternative investment services and structured products, effective May 23, 2017. Iyer was Managing Director and Global Head of BNY Mellon middle office solutions. Before coming to BNY Mellon, he worked in Citi’s Investor Services business.

Iyer replaced Frank La Salla who moved on to be CEO of BNY Mellon’s corporate trust business.

HSBC and CIC Hold Talks on Bilateral Investment Fund

GIC Raises Stake in China Oilfield Services

On November 14 2018, Singapore’s GIC Private Limited acquired 2,982,000 H- shares in China Oilfield Services Ltd at an average price of HK$ 6.9883. GIC increased its ownership in China Oilfield Services to 9.07% from 8.91%. China Oilfield Services is an oilfield services company. It is a majority owned subsidiary of Chinese state owned company CNOOC Group.
