Russell Investments Forms New Global Client Strategy and Research Unit

Seattle-based Russell Investments created a new team called the Global Client Strategy & Research team within its investment division. This new team will be led by Kevin Turner, a 21-year veteran of the company. He will report to Brian Meath, global chief investment officer, multi-asset solutions at Russell Investments.

Taiwan Bureau of Labor Funds Embarks on Private Equity

Taiwan’s Bureau of Labor Funds embarked on making its first allocation to private equity. The investor plans to reduce allocation to fixed income in assets such as bank deposits and increase that allocation to alternative investments ex-Taiwan.

DalCor Pharmaceuticals Raises Series B

In April 19, 2016, Montreal-based DalCor Pharmaceuticals, a pharmaceutical company that is working on cardiovascular disease treatments that genetically targets patients, raised US$ 100 million in a Series B round. New investors in the company are Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), the Fonds de solidarite FTQ and CTI Life Sciences. Return investors are Sanderling Ventures and Andre Desmarais. The Series A round was US$ 50 million and closed in 2015.

Mauritius Aims to Sell Citizenship and Passports to Bolster National Wealth Fund
