Charles Plosser to Retire
Philadelphia Federal Reserve President Charles Plosser is set to retire. He has been a vocal critic of quantitative easing. He will leave the FOMC in March 2015. Plosser was an economics professor at the University of Rochester and former dean of the University of Rochester Simon Business School. He was the 10th president of the Philadelphia Federal Reserve on August 1, 2006.
NAGDCA Selects Rutherford as New President
Edward Rutherford was selected as president of the National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators (NAGDCA) for a 1-year term. Rutherford was chosen by NAGDCA members at an association meeting. Rutherford succeeds Ralph Marsh as NAGDCA president. Rutherford is the business manager for the human services department of Larimer County, located in Fort Collins, Colorado. The Larimer County 401(a) plan has an estimated US$ 170 million in assets.
