SWFs, Pensions and Endowments Preliminary Returns for 2015

The SWFI research group tracks a myriad of statistics and figures including annual returns when it comes to institutional investors. This table shows a sample of endowments, pensions and sovereign wealth funds and their annual returns. We selected around 20 institutional investors in this preliminary study. Investment returns are in local currency. In addition, some institutional investors report on a calendar year, while others have a fiscal year the ends in March, June, or August. For fiscal year 2014-2015, the Canada Public Pension Investment Board posted an 18.7% return beating out the New Zealand Superannuation Fund at 14.64% and the Alaska Permanent Fund at 4.9%. CalPERS had a relatively weak performance of 2.4%.
