Sovereign Wealth Funds Expert
Dr. Celeste Lo Turco is a Sovereign Wealth Funds Expert for the SWFs Strategic Committee of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the SWFs Law Centre. She has been the advisor for Ancitel, the Italian Municipalities National Association, for the development of the national economy and the relationship with SWFs.

Former United Nations analyst with a specialization in Security and Middle-East Political Affairs, she worked within the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI). She has been living in the Middle East for a long period. Previously based in Qatar, she currently lives in the United Arab Emirates. She is a Georgetown University Fulbright Student and she holds a PhD in Political Theory and a Master Degree in Markets and Institutions of the Global System.


Jason Whitaker

Buy-side Strategist
Jason joined Misys in November 2014 as a Buy-side Strategist to support the FusionInvest product line. Prior to Misys, Jason worked at Bloomberg where he ran sales and support for Bloomberg’s portfolio and risk analytics solution in the EMEA and Asia regions. Jason’s early career was in asset management where he held a number of roles including analyst, portfolio manager, investment director and head of North American equities at Cazenove Fund Management in London. Jason has a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the US.


Michael Maduell

President and Editor-in-Chief, Sovereign Wealth Quarterly
Michael Maduell is President, Co-founder and Board Member of the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute (SWFI). He is Editor-in-Chief of the Sovereign Wealth Quarterly. Michael co-invented the Linaburg-Maduell Transparency Index. Michael’s prolific research and SWFI’s data products have been referenced in hundreds of academic papers and respected journals, as well as appearing in prominent media outlets, such as the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Reuters, The Economist, BBC and the New York Times. He has even made television appearances on networks such as CNBC, CNN and BNN. Before co-founding the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute, Michael worked in various organizations throughout the finance industry including Reuters and the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS). He received his Master’s in Investment Management and Financial Analysis from Saint Mary’s College and a Bachelor’s in Finance and Risk Management from California State University, Sacramento.
