Lukas Daalder

CIO Investment Solutions
Lukas Daalder is Chief Investment Officer for Robeco’s Investment Solutions and supervises the team of multi-asset portfolio managers and strategists. Lukas joined Robeco in 2009 as an investment strategist. Before joining Robeco, he worked three years as a strategist at IMC Market Makers. Previously, he worked for five years as head of Research at Bank Oyens van Eeghen. He began his career in 1992. In the period from 1992 to 2001, he worked as strategist / economist working for several companies, including FELIX & Co, Rabobank Netherlands, Rabobank International and Amstgeld. Lukas is also a columnist for the Dutch leading financial newspaper “Het Financieele Dagblad”, writing a weekly column on economics and financial markets.

Lukas studied economics at the University of Amsterdam.


Léon Cornelissen

Chief Economist
Mr. Léon Cornelissen is Chief Economist at Robeco since 2009. He is responsible for Robeco’s view on the global economy and the financial markets.

Léon started his career in the investment industry in 1990 at Robeco as a member of the Treasury team. During 1990 and 1994 he set up a repo desk, served as fixed-income portfolio manager and risk manager. In 1995, Léon left Robeco to join IRIS (Institute for Research and Investment Services), the former research joint-venture of Robeco and Rabobank, where he began working as a fixed-income analyst. Over the years his research responsibilities broadened to asset allocation and product development. He also joined the steering group that was preparing Robeco for the transition to the euro.

Léon writes on a regular basis columns and articles for financial magazines. Léon holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam.


Michael Maduell

President and Editor-in-Chief, Sovereign Wealth Quarterly
Michael Maduell is President, Co-founder and Board Member of the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute (SWFI). He is Editor-in-Chief of the Sovereign Wealth Quarterly. Michael co-invented the Linaburg-Maduell Transparency Index. Michael’s prolific research and SWFI’s data products have been referenced in hundreds of academic papers and respected journals, as well as appearing in prominent media outlets, such as the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Reuters, The Economist, BBC and the New York Times. He has even made television appearances on networks such as CNBC, CNN and BNN. Before co-founding the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute, Michael worked in various organizations throughout the finance industry including Reuters and the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS). He received his Master’s in Investment Management and Financial Analysis from Saint Mary’s College and a Bachelor’s in Finance and Risk Management from California State University, Sacramento.
