Simon Lansdorp, PhD

Quant Researcher
Mr. Lansdorp is Researcher with Robeco’s Factor Investing Research team. His areas of expertise include factor allocation, stock selection and portfolio construction. He focuses on structuring client-specific factor investing solutions and developing new investment strategies. Mr. Lansdorp joined Robeco as a researcher in 2009 while he was simultaneously working on his doctorate dissertation. He holds a MSc in Economics from the Erasmus University Rotterdam and holds a PhD in Finance from the Tinbergen Institute. He has published in the Journal of Financial Markets.


Graham Elliot

Managing Director, Head of Middle East & Africa
Graham Elliot joined Robeco as Managing Director, Head of Middle East & Africa in January 2012. Graham is responsible for Robeco’s strategic and tactical operating decisions and for overseeing and growing both the institutional and wholesale business in the Middle East region, as well as being tasked with further development and growth of Robeco’s presence in Africa and Central Asia. Prior to joining Robeco, Graham held senior positions in the Middle East for Barclays Global Investors (latterly BlackRock), where as Head of Business, he was responsible for setting up their business in the region in 2007. More recently, he was CEO of BNP Paribas Investment Partners Middle East based out of Bahrain.


Michael Maduell

President and Editor-in-Chief, Sovereign Wealth Quarterly
Michael Maduell is President, Co-founder and Board Member of the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute (SWFI). He is Editor-in-Chief of the Sovereign Wealth Quarterly. Michael co-invented the Linaburg-Maduell Transparency Index. Michael’s prolific research and SWFI’s data products have been referenced in hundreds of academic papers and respected journals, as well as appearing in prominent media outlets, such as the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Reuters, The Economist, BBC and the New York Times. He has even made television appearances on networks such as CNBC, CNN and BNN. Before co-founding the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute, Michael worked in various organizations throughout the finance industry including Reuters and the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS). He received his Master’s in Investment Management and Financial Analysis from Saint Mary’s College and a Bachelor’s in Finance and Risk Management from California State University, Sacramento.
