Mozambique Planning SWF

Mozambique authorities are in support of the country maintaining a new sovereign wealth fund. The proposed SWF will be seeded from profits Mozambique earns from its LNG reserves. Eni and TotalEnergies are already underway in developing the country’s LNG for export, reaching a milestone of one year since the first export. Finance Minister Max Tonela introduced the legislation to create the fund. Tonela expects Mozambique to harvest US$ 6 billion annually from LNG by 2040.
