Bloomberg: Mubadala Wants Food Franchises

A new Bloomberg report says Mubadala “took control of Zamp.” Zamp runs franchises such as Popeyes in Brazil. Speculation is brewing that Outback Steakhouse is next, per the report. Outback Steakhouse is an American chain of Australian-themed casual dining restaurants, serving American cuisine, based in Tampa, Florida. The chain has over 1,000 locations in 23 countries throughout North America, South America, Asia, and Australia. Outback earns about US$ 1 billion a quarter in revenue. Mubadala is not commenting on the acquisitions at this time.
