Taiwan Pension Gains Record Return

Taiwan’s Labor Pension Fund had record gains of NT$ 478.5 billion, or over US$ 15 billion, according to the Bureau of Labor Insurance. This equates to 12.6% return on investment last year. Taiwan has never achieved returns of 12% before. Nearly half, 46%, of the gains came from domestic equities. Taiwan’s TAIEX climbed 26.8% last year. The new Labor Pension Fund, the Labor Retirement Fund, the Labor Insurance Fund, the Employment Insurance Fund, and the Arrears Wage Payment Fund totaled NT$719.37 billion.
