Microsoft’s Treasury Group Awards Custodial Mandate to BNY Mellon Asset Servicing

Microsoft Corporation has a massive pot of corporate cash, some US$ 130 billion in assets in its treasury. Microsoft awarded BNY Mellon a global custodian mandate for the company’s treasury unit. This is a new custodial relationship with the treasury unit at Microsoft. BNY Mellon plans to provide a complex cross-business bundle of services, including: custody, collateral management, performance measurement, and liquidity services. Microsoft has considerable exposure to foreign exchange risk due to the nature of its business. Liquidity and security are key drivers for Microsoft’s treasury team.
