China Retaliates and Puts $60 Billion in Tariffs on US Goods by June 1

The Chinese government countered back and will impose retaliatory tariffs on $60 billion in U.S. goods on June 1, 2019. These tariffs are aimed at U.S. agricultural products such as sugar, wheat, peanuts, chicken, and turkey. China could also start to drop U.S. Treasuries, which could create further instability in capital markets, a scenario once pitched by many U.S. economists. The United States economy is less sensitive to exports versus China.
