Greg Ruiz to Lead CalPERS Private Equity

The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) finally hired a private equity head. CalPERS hired Greg Ruiz to be its new managing investment director for private equity. Sarah Corr has been serving as interim managing investment director for private equity.
Ruiz began his career at Goldman Sachs working in the private equity group before joining the private equity firm FFL Partners. He joined Palo Alto-based Altamont Capital Partners in 2013, where he served as principal. Many oof the founders at Altamont Capital Partners came from Golden Gate Capital.
Ruiz earned a bachelor of arts degree from Princeton University, and an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
