EQT to Acquire Maltese Telecommunications Operator Melita

Revealed on May 23, 3019, EQT Infrastructure IV fund, a fund managed by EQT Partners, acquired Melita Limited, a Maltese telecommunications operator from Paris-based Apax Partners SAS and Belgium-based Fortino Capital Partners.

Melita (formerly Melita Cable) was formed in 1991 by Joseph A. Gasan and owns converged fixed and mobile telecom infrastructure, as well as co-location services.

Apax Partners SAS and Fortino Capital invested in Melita Limited in February 2016, while inking the initial deal on December 11, 2015. The sellers then were GMT Communications Partners, MC Venture Partners, Blackrock Communications, and the Gasan Group.
