Malaysia Airlines Hires Morgan Stanley for Money Options

Posted on 07/23/2019

Malaysia’s Khazanah Nasional Berhad is exploring options for its beleaguered national carrier Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB). Khazanah Nasional hired investment banking Morgan Stanley to view strategic options for Malaysia Airlines. Khazanah Nasional is the sole shareholder of the airline, since the sovereign fund took it private in 2014.

Malaysia Airlines faced two deadly airplane accidents in 2014, with one plane vanishing over the Indian ocean (Flight MH370), and another airplane shot down over Ukraine.

Malaysia Airlines competes against AirAsia.
