The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey could possibly move from the country’s capital of Ankara to Istanbul. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s administration is planning to move certain parts of the central bank to the Istanbul finance centre. The Turkish central bank already has a small presence in Istanbul.

On another note, Turkish Finance Minister Berat Albayrak, on July 30, 2019, disclosed an expectation of more deep interest rate cuts from the country’s central bank.
