AustralianSuper and Ontario Teachers’ to Commit $2 Billion to India’s NIIF and Future Co-Investments

India’s National Investment and Infrastructure Fund Ltd (NIIF) received commitments of about US$ 2 billion from AustralianSuper and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.
In detail, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan is committing US$ 250 million in the NIIF master fund and AustralianSuper is committing US$ 250 million in the NIIF master fund. The investment also makes AustralianSuper and Ontario Teachers’ shareholders in NIIF.
Furthermore, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan signed a deal for co-investment rights of up to US$ 750 million in future opportunities alongside the NIIF master fund. AustralianSuper also signed a similar deal for co-investment rights of up to US$ 750 million in future opportunities alongside the NIIF master fund.
In addition, the NIIF master fund also received additional commitments worth Rs 60 crore from HDFC Life Insurance and Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance in the third round.
