UK Members of Parliament Overwhelmingly Agree to Hold December 12th General Election

U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his predecessor has been tirelessly trying to get Brexit done going through parliament. Boris Johnson has pushed for a December 12th general election to break the impasse.

U.K. Members of Parliament voted 438 to 20 to conduct the country-wide vote. Labor party officials tried to lower the voting age to 16 to increase their odds of winning the national vote through an amendment that failed. This is the first time the U.K. will host a general election in December since 1923.

This bill will be moved to the House of Lords for further debate.
