Norway Sovereign Wealth Fund to Expel G4S from its Mega Portfolio

Posted on 11/14/2019

Norway Government Pension Fund Global (GPFG) disclosed that Norges Bank decided to have the sovereign wealth fund exclude London-based G4S plc (formerly Group 4 Securicor) from its investment portfolio. The reason for the exclusion is that Norges Bank sees the company contributing or is being responsible for serious or systematic human rights violations. G4S is a British multinational security services company formed in 2004 when Securicor amalgamated with Danish business Group 4 Falck.

According to Norges Bank Investment Management, the wealth fund held a 2.33% stake at the end of 2018.
