Stichting Beroepspensioenfonds Loodsen Awards BlackRock Fiduciary Manager Mandate

Stichting Beroepspensioenfonds Loodsen (BPL) is the the Dutch scheme for marine pilots. BPL hired BlackRock as fiduciary manager, beating out the incumbent manager Robeco. The fund has around €1 billion in assets. BlackRock will be tasked to oversee the investment portfolio of BPL and select and monitor the fund’s asset manager lineup. BlackRock will also oversee the fund’s interest rate and currency hedging.
Earlier in 2019, Robeco revealed it would cease offering fiduciary services to pension funds and insurers.
