The last time Malaysia’s Khazanah Nasional Berhad issued full financial information about the organization was in 2018. Khazanah issued a release that left out its asset size, but reported a profit from operations of 7.36 billion ringgit for 2019 versus a loss of 6.27 billion ringgit for 2018. The gains on divestments increased to 9.9 billion ringgit versus 1.4 billion ringgit in 2018. Furthermore, impairments fell from 4.9 billion ringgit in 2019, a lower figure compared to 7.3 billion ringgit in 2018.

The organization segments its portfolio by a commercial fund and a strategic fund.

“This was made more challenging by the continued low returns environment and generally slower economic growth. Despite these challenges, we managed to achieve significant progress in delivering on our mandate to grow Malaysia’s long-term wealth,” managing director Shahril Ridza Ridzuan said in a press release.
