According to U.S. Senator Rand Paul’s twitter (10:36 AM / Mar 22, 2020), “Senator Rand Paul has tested positive for COVID-19. He is feeling fine and is in quarantine. He is asymptomatic and was tested out of an abundance of caution due to his extensive travel and events. He was not aware of any direct contact with any infected person.”

Italy

The Italian health ministry said as of 6 p.m. local time on March 22, 2020 at least 5,476 people have died due to the novel coronavirus.

Germany

Germany’s Angela Merkel is in quarantine after meeting doctor who tested positive with coronavirus.

New Zealand

New Zealand is preparing to enter lockdown after a spike in coronavirus cases.

New York State

New York is the home of Wall Street and major corporations. New York State has more reported coronavirus cases compared to South Korea and France. Coronavirus infections have increased to 15,168, according to new data released by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. The New York outbreak has surpassed the other two epicenters of Washington state and California. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to construct temporary hospitals in Stony Brook, Westbury, Westchester, New York, and the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City, which will contain four federal hospitals with 250 beds each. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio requested the U.S. military to help fight the outbreak.

Europe

Analyzing many media reports, Spain’s outbreak death total rose to 1,720 from a previous total of 1,326, while the number of cases have exceeded 28,572. Spain’s prime minister is seeking to extend the country’s 15-day state of emergency. State Premier Armin Laschet of North Rhine-Westphalia state wants Germany to ban public meetings of more than two people, unless they plan to work on slowing the spread of the coronavirus. French President Emmanuel Macron threatened to close the French border to the United Kingdom, if the U.K does not take more tough measures to contain the viral outbreak.

As industry comes to a halt from the coronavirus pandemic, urban areas across the global are recording massive declines in air pollution.

Singapore

According to Singapore’s Health Ministry, the country reported 23 new cases with origins mostly from people coming in. Singapore’s total of infected reached 455. Singapore government officials disclosed they will not allow any short-term visitors to transit or enter Singapore.
