Boeing Customers Cancel 150 737 Max Jets in March 2020

In March 2020, Boeing customers canceled 150 737 Max jets. Airplane leasing firm Avolon, which is owned by HNA Group through Bohai Capital Holding, canceled orders for 75 of them. Brazilian airline Gol canceled 34 of the planes. The Boeing 737 Max is the fourth generation of the Boeing 737; however, the 737 Max 8 were part of two major deadly crashes in 2018.

“We are working closely with our customers, many of whom are facing significant financial pressures, to review their fleet plans and make adjustments where appropriate,” Boeing said in a statement. “At the same time, Boeing continues to adjust its order book to adapt to lower-than-planned 737 MAX production in the near term.”
