CapitaLand Secures Green Bonds

On April 15, 2020, Singapore-based CapitaLand secured a total of S$ 400 million in two bilateral green loans. S$ 150 million was provided in a 4-year green loan by DBS Bank Ltd., while the S$ 250 million 3-year multi-currency green bond was provided by The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited–Singapore Branch (HSBC) (part of HSBC Holdings Plc). The bond proceeds from the green loans will be used to financing the development, investment, and acquisition of certified green buildings.

In March 2020, Prudential Financial launched its first green bond with a principal amount of US$ 500 million. The bond proceeds could be used for renewable energy and green buildings.

In March 2020, the State Bank of India raised US$ 100 million in green bonds. The bonds were priced at 3-month LIBOR + 80 basis points.
