Nordic Institutional Investors Invest in Major Swedish Wind Power Project

Polhem Infra KB, AP1, AP3, and AP4, invested in in one of Sweden’s largest wind power projects together with Foresight Energy Infrastructure Partners. In addition, other investors include BAE Systems Pension Funds, KLP (Kommunal Landspensjonskasse Gjensidig Forsikringsselskap), and Arcano Partners managed funds.

The new wind farm Skaftåsen in Härjedalen Municipality, with its 35 turbines, is expected to produce electricity, corresponding to the consumption of about 100,000 households when it is commissioned in 2021. Härjedalen Municipality is a municipality in Jämtland County in northern Sweden. The wind power park is to be operated and managed by Foresight Group.

On December 11, 2019, Foresight Energy Infrastructure Partners reached financial close to acquire the greenfield 231 mega watt Skaftåsen onshore wind project in Sweden from Arise AB.
