The Chainsmokers Take a Swing at Becoming Venture Capitalists

The Chainsmokers are a U.S. electronic DJ and production duo consisting of Alexander “Alex” Pall and Andrew “Drew” Taggart. The Grammy Award-winning Chainsmokers launched Mantis, a venture capital firm which seeks to raise US$ 50 million. Alex Pall and Drew Taggart have invested their personal capital in investments before. The Chainsmokers through Mantis invested in a US$ 10 million round in San Francisco-based LoanSnap, Inc. a mortgage lender. Existing investors including Baseline, Thomvest (Peter Thomson), Virgin (Richard Branson), Liquid 2 Ventures (Joe Montana), and OVO also participated in the round.
