Qatar SWF Invests in Chinese EdTech Zuoyebang

Zuoyebang is a Beijing-headquartered startup that runs an online learning app. The tutorial startup raised US$ 750 million in a Series E round that was led by FountainVest Partners and Tiger Global Management. Other investors in the round include SoftBank’s Vision Fund, Qatar Investment Authority, Sequoia Capital China, Tiantu Capital, and Xiang He Capital.

Current investors in the company include Goldman Sachs, GGV Capital, and Coatue Management.

Zuoyebang was formed by Baidu, a massive search engine in China in 2014. In 2015, Zuoyebang splintered from its parent.
