GIC Invests in Klarna Holding Investment Round of $650 Million

Silver Lake Partners led an investor group to invest US$ 650 million in Stockholm-based Klarna Holding AB, a Swedish payments company that allows consumers with the ability to pay in installments across a range of stories. The investment in Klarna values the company at US$ 10.65 billion. Other investors in the round include Singapore’s GIC Private Limited, funds managed by BlackRock Inc., and San Francisco-based HMI Capital, LLC. In addition, Merian Chrysalis, Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV), Northzone, and Bonnier have acquired shares from existing shareholders. Existing investors in Klarna include Sequoia Capital, Dragoneer, Permira, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Bestseller Group, and Ant Group (formerly Ant Financial).

Klarna was formed in 2005.
